A client with a distributed remote workforce needed faulty Dell laptop keyboards replaced for 33 users across Portugal, without shipping devices away or interrupting daily work.
The client supplied replacement keyboards in advance. NGMS scheduled appointments at each user’s location, replaced keyboards inside mobile service vans, reinstalled required software and licensed applications, tested each device and returned it directly to the user.
Each of the 33 users needed a separate appointment confirmed before the engineer visit.
Engineers needed to complete several visits per day across different Portuguese cities.
Repairs had to meet a fixed repair-centre quality standard inside service vans.
Some laptops also had speaker, microphone, port or degraded battery faults.
Pre-visit calls confirmed appointments and engineer availability.
Dell laptop keyboards were replaced inside mobile service vans near each user’s home.
Required software and licensed applications were installed and configured after repair.
Keyboard, system and application performance were fully tested before return to the user.
All 33 users received fully working Dell laptops within three weeks. Secondary hardware faults discovered during field visits were documented and resolved through planned follow-up visits where required.
No mail-in repair process meant users did not lose laptops for days at a time.
The van-based model kept every laptop near its user throughout the repair process.
Hardware, software and licensed applications were tested before every handover.
A van-based mobile workshop is a service vehicle fitted with tools, parts and a clean workspace. Engineers park at or near the user’s location and repair the device inside the van, avoiding shipment to a repair centre.
Yes. A trained field engineer can replace a Dell laptop keyboard on-site, reinstall required software and test the device before handover.
The engineer documents the fault and reports it to the client. Once the client supplies the required spare part, a revisit completes the repair using the same mobile workshop model.
